I'll be using this website to document my internship and write my report.
I'm currently studying a BSc in Multimedia Technology and Design at The University of Kent. As part of my course we have the possibility to go on a year in industry and we are very much encouraged to do so. The year in industry is taken between the end of our second year of study and before the final year making the course a 4 year course. My aim whilst I was searching for an internship was simple; to go abroad. People I explain my situation to often come to the conclusion that I'm either doing a year abroad (studying at a university) or that I've suspended my studies to work. Neither of these are true as my year in industry counts towards my final grade at University and I'm still enrolled at the University of Kent and only the University of Kent; not the University of Luxembourg.
Below you'll find some blog posts I've chosen to display here as a sample. I very much encourage you to head over to the blog page if you're interested about the posts.
Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.
Day 1 at Eurocontrol. Upon arriving in the morning the reception desk called the current intern Jasmeen S to fetch me from the lobby. She showed myself and the other intern Dimitris T briefly around the building before introducing us to our supervisor, Vincent S. Vincent had prepared a program for us to follow during the day which involved sitting down with a lot of the staff for short introductions before the staff morning coffee break at 10.40ish followed by a couple more introductions before lunch at 11.45.
